Our client is a respected brand in the modular build industry. Securing high value multi-year government contracts before even having a physical presence in New Zealand. Their reputation has enabled rapid growth, at a speed enviable to most organisations in the construction sector. With this continued growth we are recruiting multiple positions across their business.  

This role is based in Wellington, so ideally relocation would be required. However, for the right candidate there could be a possibility of working from Auckland. 

We have been tasked with locating a Senior Business Development Manager/Sales Director in the support and growth of our clients market share in New Zealand. You will deal with clients from all industries, leaving no stone unturned. Taking the lead with existing, strategic, preferred supplier arrangements with Government, as well as developing new business as part of your daily activity you will thrive in a busy, changeable and team orientated structure.

This position is a senior position and as such we are specifically looking for particular experience, knowledge and qualifications to be successful in the role. Namely:

  • You will have a strong construction background in New Zealand, ideally with experience in project management, or similar. Where you will understand how a project is pulled together, estimated and delivered.

  • You will have exposure to government clients, across the board, where projects are exceptionally large, complex and require a strong customer focus.

  • You will have a hunter personality, where you naturally search out and secure new business.

  • You will have experience in the complete lifecycle of a construction project, covering initial client contact through to completion.

  • You will have an excellent ability to diffuse issues and problems that can arise with clients. Staying one step ahead of the game in identifying and solving these.

  • You will be used to securing projects that can run from $100m – 500m and the associated client engagement required to secure said projects.  

With a long list of requirements for the position, the remuneration is exceptionally competitive and details will be worked through with the successful candidate. Uncapped commission coupled with your drive to succeed will be paramount in how successful you will be in the position.
